Norway is among the countries that rank lowest in the world when it comes to antibiotic use. Our chickens are raised antibiotic free. For cattle, the antibiotics can only be given in exceptional circumstances, when prescribed by a vet in case of illness. Norwegian regulations for the use of antibiotics set clear requirements that the use of antibiotics for preventive purposes (so-called prophylactic antibiotic use) is forbidden.
