How do you make your bone broths?

For our liquid bone broths, beef or chicken bones are first roasted in a hot oven to enhance the rich flavour of the broth, then mixed with vegetables and herbs and intensely simmered in a slow-cooker for up to 24 hours to release all the nutrients.

Is it organic?

Organic certification is not common in Norway (where we produce our broths) because they expect all produce to be of the highest quality with minimal intervention. In Norway, the smaller scale co-operative farms, expansive pastures and colder climate

Is Freja Foods Free Range

We are ‘free to go’ which is the Norwegian equivalent of ‘free range’.

Is your beef grass-fed?

Our cows are majority grass-fed, except when extreme weather conditions affect supply. In which case, corn is used.

What are the chickens fed?

Our chickens are grain-fed. They also receive the Paracox-5 vaccine against coccidia (parasites).

What is your packaging made out of?

Our cartons are certified BPA-free! They are made from 90% renewable materials (FSC-Certified paperboard, aluminium and polyethylene) and are 100% recyclable. Our packaging is one of the most sustainable on the market.

What temperature is the broth decanted into the packaging at?

After Ultra Heat Treatment (UHT), our broth is poured into the cartons between 23ºC and 26ºC.
